Tranny shifting HARD

I have a 4th gen cam 140,000 miles on it. I'll drive normally and it'll rev up to 4k and it wont shift but it will SLAM into the next gear. Like the whole car shoots foward until the rpms drop.

Any clue as to whats causing this? Could it have to do with the computer? I really hope the tranny isnt going yet since i dont have the cash to replace it or buy a new car. Besides, im saving up for a 3sgte swap.

Yeh that's your tranny. If u get lucky it can go for a few more month.

I had that problem before, it gave me lot's of problems while starting at the lights cuz car was rolling back all the time. After problem went away by itself and i drove for a few month untill TC exploded.

Same thing's happening to me and it's scaring me. When I floor it, it slams through gears.

psh, it happens when im babying the throttle. itll just go up to 4k then BAM 2nd gear, then same into 3rd and if its cold, 4th

you guys dont like positve gear engagements? whats wrong with you? the more smooth teh shift hte power power lost!

Try a flush, same symptoms occur when its a flow problem.
GEN3s need the screen cleaned which entails dropping the pan and GEN4s have a filter.
Happened to me, but then I got a heavy vibration in reverse gear so rather than screw wiyh it some more, I bought a remanufactured tran.
