My buddy used a smoke spray that must be similar to what u used. You need to use several lights coats just like spray paint. Also sand with super fine sand paper in between coats.
thats cool. But my car is silver, and when i tinted them with window tint I used 20% so its really dark almost black. And the black on silver is really hot looking.
Oh and having dark tail lights, is that illegal or is it legal if u can see the lights still?
I've seen others with smoked tailights around before, and theres that one website that does them, so i'm thinking it might be, but you might want to check your states laws on stuff like that.

Link? id like to see them. Ive never found smoked 03 camry lights online b4. If its pricey id rather DIY method
thanks
To see what the 05+ SE rear lights look like, I'd go to www.toyota.com/Camry. There are some pictures of SE's rear. Or you can go see them at a dealership and see if you like them. They're '05 and '06 but willl fit on '03 Camry and they do look different than an '03 rear light but they come tinted OTB.
Just a suggestion if you want to avoid the potentially messy DIY route. But of course, DIY is always more rewarding... not to mention usually cheaper :-)

Here is a picture of my Solara with smoked tail lights. . . it isn't glossy yet. . . I redid the clear coat and it's glossy like that 350Z. . . I also used VHT Nite-Shades. . . This was with 4 coats of Nite-Shades on each light
the best way to do it is using the spray tint.. the night shade or any types are usually the best kind to use.. and to avoid the drippy results.. spray many layers of light coats.. even tho the reslults after the first time will not b as visible, keep on doin it and leave a good intermission between each time you spray it, give it time to dry, to avoid the drippy results. i did mines and they came out good. i still have not buffered yet to smoothen them out completely for the super glossy look...
window tint on tail lights are a terrible idea because windows tints are for "windows" hence the name. since the windows are a flat surface, they come out with good results.. but on tail lights, terrible , you will either get bubble bumps, wrinkles, or by doin it your way, you get the lines from the sections.
Oh and before i order the Night shade....how do i get the gunk of my lights that is left over from the window tint i had on there? its really stickky and i tried to use a razor and take i off but now there is thousands of scratches.
