4th Generation Best clutch?

My clutch is going in my Camry. It's slipping when it's cold and if there is a lot of torque needed (up steep hills at low speed).

This sucks. I live in the Blue Mountains.

Anyway, with my philosophy of "if it's broke, replace it with a better one" what is the best clutch I can use for my 1mz-fe?

God bless manuals!

So im far from a seasoned tech, or technician at all but I do know that I had my clutch do the same thing on me about 6 months ago. I would accelerate and the engine would rev but I wouldent hardly move. I spent about 900$ on a clutch replacment and got myself an ACT stage 2 clutch. Its sticky and I killed it about 20 times the first day I drove it but its been workin great for me and theres no lost power when I accelerate now. Also word of advice if your gonna have your tranny open for a clutch might as well help out with less slippage and invest in an upgraded flywheel. Its pretty cheep if you already have the engine dorpped. Same with your timing belt.

The ACT is somewhat harsh for just a lightly modded street car, but you will have plenty of clutch there for any mods needed. Definitly a noce piece. You can also go with a Exedy stage 1 which is better than stock, still tons more holding power than stock but a little easier on the wallet and leg. Thats what i put in my 3zfe camry and although i haven't finished break in yet it feels much better already.

I sell both the ACT and Exedy..

ACT TY2-HD00 stage 1 for 385.00 or TY3-HDR4 stage 2 for 389.00

Exedy stage 1 for 319.99

Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch will do just fine.

Soft pedal feel with fast engagement.
90% better than stock.

Make sure you get a new throwout bearing.

Seeing your in Aus, i'd recommend the Exedy Cermic Sports Clutch. It's been awesome with my V6 5 speed. It has a great grabbing power, and still slippable for normal driving. One of the best (par a racing clutch) i've felt.

Centerforce is the goods. Nopi brand clutches are rebranded from centerforce and i think they are a bit cheaper.
