Canada Snow Tires: too early to install?

I live in Toronto and need to visit the dealer to have some work doen on my car including oil change, brake check and an allignment. It would be a convenient time to put my snow tires on.
Is it too early to install them? How woudl this effect my tire wear or gas mileage?
Thanks

What snow tires do you have?

some pricier performance tires are made with long wearing compounds for driving on wet and cold roads (high silica compounds).

It is easier to do them now than be caught later on when you need them and they are sitting at home... or worse, out of stock in the store.

It's still pretty early to put them on here in TO. I remember installing my snows on boxing day, because the snow doesn't really hit and I ride on all-seasons anyway in the summer. Your gas mileage will decrease but since the ground is getting cold here in TO, the tire wear won't be any different say, if it's January. I mean, how much snow is ALWAYS on the roads anyway? Like maybe 15 days a year?

I say wait until the end of November...
