Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to this Forum... I'm running into some problems with my new Camry and I need all the information I can get! I was trying to look things up on my own, but I realized that Forums provide the best helps...!!!
My girlfriend and I just recently purchased a 92' Camry V6 Le, the 3.0L model... It was a fairly good price, the only thing is that they warned us of bad injectors on the car... Supposedly it's dumping too much gas and the problem needed to get fixed... The car starts just fine and doesn't make funny noises, until it starts to warm up and then it stalls, then the smell of fuel increases, then it starts to smoke, then it dies...... Fuel even comes out the pipe.... Can anyone tell me what could cause the injectors to go bad? Can anyone tell me where I can get Toyota parts for a good price? Can anyone help me at all???? I'm really new to Toyotas ... so please be as detailed as you can........ Thank you.....
I've never heard of such problem on any cars, let alone a Camry. You actually get gas coming out the exhaust pipe :o Is that even possible?
How long does it take before it stalls? What's the milage on the car?
BTW-Welcome to TN. Too bad you couldn't start on a better note, but hopefully somebody here can help you out.
Thanx! Well... it's true... I've seen it with my own eyes, touched and smelled it... I had fuel drops coming out the pipe!! ... the oil distick smells like fuel too... I'm not sure what to do... the car's at a shop right now, but my mechanic haven't diagnosed it yet... I know the injectors could be expensive, so I'd like to know if I could get them from some online place before he quotes me on them!! Like that I could just get them and have him install them!!! ... I'd also like to know what could cause injectors to go bad... I really need help here...fast... so please give me answers....
The car starts to stall after about 5 minutes of warming up... Then you smell the fuel all over the place!!!
The Check Engine light doesn't come on though... and it doesn't over heat either.... Anyone with Tech experience on here can give me their ideas... please.......
Doh...2 days and no help yet...I guess this means most of the forum is pretty clueless about how to handle your problem. If that's true, then getting a quote from a reliable mechanic would be the next best thing. Do you know for sure that it's the injectors? It couldnt be anything else...? Either way, if you don't find help here, maybe you could find some at teamsc3.com or other camry-specific forums. Good luck
Wasn't the injectors.. and I found that out after I swapped in a JDM motor... It was probably one of the sensors... I'll be taking the car to a Toyota dealership and have them determine which one is bad... The swap went pretty well though... no more smoke or fuel drops... the stalling has drastically reduced.. if not completely stopped...(I'm a bit paranoid).... I'll just have to wait and see....

Good luck man... www.camryman.org has more people on it so if you have questions they might get answered faster there.. but this is a good forum too!!!
I thought someone else on here had that same problem..unless it was you. You might want to "try" the search thing and see if Im right. Good luck , and Welcome!
