Is it easier or faster or even possible to remove the starter from the bottom? I just don't feel like removing the battery and cruise control actuator unless I have to.

It is possible but you have to break your arm in three places to get around everything. Really its not that bad i can do it without removing the battery in mine.

i dont think you have to remove the battery.

The instructions I have say to do it, keep in mind this is a Gen 3. But I'll take a better look tomorrow assuming that the local dealerships parts department is open.
