A couple of times I have gone out to start my car, and it starts but takes 3 fires then it dies. Without turning the key to off, I make another attempt to start the car, it takes 3 fires then dies. I turn the key to off, then back to start, then it fires right up. I was wondering if the fuel filter could be clogged or something I hope it is not a fuel pump issue as those are much more expensive than a filter. What do you think?

They are dealer plugs and now have (according to the dealer records) 60k. I pulled one the other day to see what they looked like.....I couldn't tell that anything was wrong with them as they looked really good (in colour). I didn't know how to do the gap on a dual prong plug.
If its not your fuel pump or plugs it might be your fuel lines. When your driving does it ever stall and feel like its going to die or is it just on startup? My girlfriends Accura 3.2 requires 91 octane and some dip before her used cheap 87 grade and plugged up the lines. If you get some residue in your lines it will plug them right up.

I have only had the car for 1.5k and about 1 month. It might be because it is getting colder. But it only happens when it is warmed up, shut off for 3 min, then try to start and only when I have driven it kinda hard (4k rpm shifts) this is why I think it is the fuel filter or pump. But after it warms up doesn't it get less fuel compared with when it is cold? It doesn't hesitate when I am driving at all....

i'm thinking its a prob with the idle enrichment under cold start conditions.
i think in the gen4 thats all part of the idle control valve isn't it?

Wow! Thanks, and to answer your question, no it does not blow vapor pressure when I undo the cap after warming up and I gas the car up and it should (the cap came with the car, it passed inspection just 1 month ago) but it looks like an el-cheepo gas cap. I should go to the dealership and get a new one because I hate it when someone puts el-cheepo stuff on your car and it gives you problems. But first - I will try the gas cap. Second I will try the fuel filter, next, I will try spark plugs, then if worse comes to worse, then I will do the fuel pump. Thanks for your input and help.
Got a gas cap, seems to do better, and the gas cap is soooo much better quality than the el-cheepo that was on the car. Anyone changed the spark plugs in a car like this? (V6 model)
