I like the second one If i were to choose. But personally dont like aftermarket shifters for Automatic cars. It just looks wrong. Cause there is no Horizontal axis and it just looks like a sore thumb to me.

the only way that i think the shifter could look nice at all is if it resembled a manual. If it was possible to get a boot on there and shorten the shifter..

I saw a prelude that had one it was nice but still had a not-true-to-manual feeling

The Ichiban is better.

I have a custom auto shifter (with OD button) and it doesn't look bad at all. I got the OBX shifter that looks like a pilot joystick. Its got a real' nice feel to it while driving and holding onto the shifter.

Well I planned on cutting down the shaft a little bit and then making a black boot around it. I personally do not like the stock shifter on the gen 3, think its just big and awkward. So ichibahn? i like that for, its cheap too.

Yeah, brungold helped me cut down the rod in my shifter... the Gen 5's came with a single-piece rod with the push-down rod being plastic. So cutting the plastic with a dremmel was a piece of cake. The only problem was that once we cut it down, the shift rod became EXTREMELY sensitive to the tightness of the fastening screws. If its not quite tight enough, the shifter will move around. If its too tight, the shift button won't push down. It has to be just right. I don't think brungold had the same problem with his Gen 3 from the best of my knowledge.

To make on that looked more like a manual, I was thinking about attaching a manual knob to the inner shaft of the shifter and putting a boot around it. you would just push down on the entire knob to shift.

I would go w/ the second one and just cut down the shaft in the car a bit so that it doesn't stick all the way up and look ugly.

i thought i posted a topic on this. anyway RedPhoenix, seems like we both got the same tastes, cuz i narrowed down to these two shifters as well. i got the ichibahn one and i have to admit, it looks a bit funny when it's all the way up...making the shifting rod visible. other than that, i'd say it's about a 7 out of 10 when shifting.

i also re-routed the overdrive button to someplace near the dimmer light console. sorry i can't post up pics until the end of this week cuz i'm so busy with school and work.

I believe Razo already makes this, Tony the Tiger has/had this shift knob.

I just cut mine down and stuck on this CF one...it looks great and is problem free.
