Cylinder Head

Hi guys,
I've got a 98 4cyl. Camry and I want to Know what is my cylinder head made of. Is it Aluminum or Iron?
I bought the car 16 mths ago. I've put 50,000 km on her and have no idea as to when the spark plugs were changed last so I'm thinking of changing them.I know the platinum plugs I have in there are good for 96,000 km. Lets say they haven't been replaced for 100,000 km. Would they be fairly easy to take out or is it possible I could damage the threads trying? Please help.

Taking the plugs out is easy. When reinstalling make sure to use dielectric grease on the ends (where the boots and plugs meet) and anti-seize compound on the threads. You'll also want to reinstall them by using a stretch of vacuum hose to get them threaded. This is the safest way to install spark plugs. If they thread improperly, the hose will slip, so you try again. Otherwise if it goes in wrong, you're going to have a fun time 1) getting them out and 2) tapping/dying or replacing the chamber.

Head is aluminum.

To remove the plugs you need:

3/8" drive ratchet
6" - 8" extension
5/8" spark plug socket (3/8" drive)

Spark plug socket is not a normal socket. Its specially made for removing/installing spark plugs. And has a rubber insert that holds the plug in the socket.

Use Denso or NGK plugs.
