3rd Generation Trunk Question

My trunk does not open with the key, it opens perfectly fine from inside, but the key just does nothing. Is there a switch or something in the 3rd gen? My spec v had one, and I am just hoping this car has one too, cuz it would be nice to be able to use a key. thanks in advance for any info!!

First off, which key are you using? There is 1 key that WILL not open the trunk, it's the Vale (sp?) key you use when you have someone park your car. The top of that key looks kinda like a triangle

I'm pretty sure all gen3s have one key that does everything.

Does the key actually turn in the lock, or not. If the key turns, but nothing happens, I would sugest taking the trunk liner off and checking to make sure all the rods are connceted properly and not binding anywhere.

If the key doesn't turn at all, I suggest that you sparay some wd-40 or other spray lubricant into the lock and see if that frees it up at all.
