OB2 sucks

Well I am still going on my turbo project, I have manifold, two ct26's actually (only using one of them though), oil and coolant lines, supra injectors, 2 bar map sensor, oil and boost gauges, KandN filter, intercooler, 2 inch mandrel bent intercooler piping, oil catch can, colder spark plugs re gapped, and a few other misc things. Now I am looking deeper into the computer and ECU combination. I have OBD 2 so it pretty much throws codes for anything. Its true, one time I got a flat tire and it threw a code..... come to think of it, mabe it was for something else. But yeah, I was told that any time the check engine light is on, the ECU goes into closed loop mode and stops listening to piggy back fuel computers. So if I turbo it with the map sensor, supra green top injectors and ct26 Im sure I will get a code for something. Probably EGR malfunction or something I guess. Is this true? It seems liek everyone who has a turbo Camry has a 3rd gen or older which is all OBD1 or OBD0 which is easier to get around. How hard is OBD2 to turbo? What should I look at doing I want to steer away from a stand alone if at all possible.

I had one code since running the new turbo setup on my car. Good news I was able to clear it reseting the ECU by unplugging the battery. I was getting Air Intake Temp. Malfunction but I think that was the ECU adapting to the 2jzgte MAF we installed. Also, having this code didn't put my car in "limp mode". BTW I'm using the Greddy emanage ultimate. There is another guy here JoeB who is pretty familiar with the Greddy emanage ultimate. He helped me this past weekend to set the long and short term fuel trims for my car. You may want to give this unit a try.

i just did a whole huge write up for this but the page failed to send.....

so im gonna do a very very quick sum

*OBD2 vs OBD1 not necesarily harder to work with, its all about the ECM's programming

*OBD2 not necessarily harder to get around vs. OBD1, from what i gather of both i'd think it would be easier

*the software is very good used in toyota's and learn well, however the learning has its limits....hence when larger injectors are introduced or huge amt's of airflow, they tend to go out of wack

*most ppl use greddy emanage, smt 6, or now for future applications go with smt-7 since its so versatile and also can REPLACE THE AFM on the 3vz-fe for anyone who might be interested in the tid bit, since its so important if u wanna turbo one.

*i dont even think ther was an OBD0, i could be wrong tho

*EGR malfunction? never heard of this as a problem because of turbo's, knock sensors if anything but u have 5sfe so i wouldnt really worry bout that.

its designed so it can be removed l8r on..........it provides functions in order to replace the AFM, it learns the voltages outputted at a certain RPM, then u can further remove the AFM or even MAF and tune the voltages via computer

Well I was just worried since the O2 sensors will be seeing unusually rich (god I hope rich and not lean) conditions and might freak out and say its the EGR systems fault. Also I was worried about it saying ignition is faulty due to me retarding the ignition. Are there some codes that do not put the car into stupid mode? How can you tell if its in limp mode?
