Unhappy This is what happens when you try to be a good citizen...

Well, I witnessed an accident(on a highway offramp) and being the upstanding citizen that I am I stuck around the scene and filled out a Witness Report for the cops.

A lady in a jeep then sideswipes my camry, which is parked to the side of the road.

name & number..

Thats kind of a bummer, Go after the citizen who hit your car if you want.., they will either get their insurance company involved and you should get a cash payout of at least the deductible of their insurance which is allot sometimes these days. If they refuse to work with you threaten small claims since you'd need little evidence to build a case. The main problem is usually the hidden damage, anything over a certain mph hit and its likely to be their somewhere.

Doesn't bankruptcy only apply to Buisnesses? So they would still owe you money....

yeah alot of people are filing for bankruptcy, because next week legislation goes into effect making it near impossible to enull Credit debt, so the past 3 weeks have set new records of people filing, each week for the last 3 has broken the previous weeks record.

i agree that you try this method^ i think driving uninsured might cost a person to forfeit their registration> which essentially keeps them from driving.? sue her in small claims court
and contact the insurace company she said she had insurance with and milk them for the money you'll need for repairs.

that sucks you got hit like that
