It has been raining constantly in NY for the past few days and its going to continue for the rest of the week. This morning on my way to class I drove through a couple huge puddles but there was no problem until I encountered one portion of the road which was flooded pretty badly so I was unable to avoid it and had to drive through it. I have the AEM cai on my car by the way, so midway through the flooded portion of the road my car shut off. I pulled to the side of the road and tried to restart my car a few times, it didnt restart until I put my put on the gas while starting the car. The car was rpms were jumping a bit but after a minute it was fine. The car starts up fine now, I was just wondering if anything can be damaged from this incident, so far the car doesn't seem to be running any differently. Is there any specific damage I should check for. Sorry bout the long post.

yeah, if it starts up fine now then i don't see how you could've made any problems. if something from the electricals would've failed, then i doubt the car would run fine. don't worry to much about it but i wouldn't recommend to push the car hard for a bit.
btw, ^^ your sig is too huge

Dry the car out in a garage overnight for instance. If it runs the same as before then its fine and you should or could check your igntion system wiring for corrosion/tolerances if your really paranoid. Its not like you sunk your car like my friend did with his waverunner last week.., igntion systems have allot of wiring these days, its likely the motor on your car was just more confused than anything. Maybe a sensor was under water and the motor just leaned out or something, who knows the possibilties are probably endless.
Even foggy/cold/humid weather throws the modern day ignition system for a loop pretty often.
Well u can't compress water, atleast with your engine. Even if u try to crank it after it stalled in deep water, it will bent the rods. Your best bet is pulling out spark plugs and cranking it untill all water shoots out.
thats almost exactly what happend to my friends car, which is one reason why im never getting a CAI. He blew his engine after sucking up water and ended up replacing it.

If you have an automatic, going through the puddle might have wet your neutral switch on the tranny.
