take some needle nose pliers, and a rag, put the rag on top of the antenna (retracted preferably) put the tips of the needle nose pliers in the little notches and unscrew it, take forever!! then go in the trunk YAY!
(right below the where the antenna is) behind all that pressed fiber carpet like crap,
take out the few screws that hold the whole thing to the wall off the trunk
unplug it and take it inside where its nice and warm.
there should be a round box at the bottom and anothe thing farther up, now don't play with the round part, its a coil of nylon cord stuff with notches in it, all stuffed in there, as long as your antenna, now go to the dealership and buy a new one, or from a scrap yard(hahahahhah yeah right) i think its about 200 bucks (or you can "find" one in a parking lot)
whatever the dealership gives you, swap it on what you have in your nice warm house, put it back together and back in the car
Has anyone ever put a "euro antenna" on their Camry? I have a gen 3 with the auto antenna and I want to put an antenna like the one on the new Corollas. The ones that are mounted on the top of the rear window.

Can be done. Just have to wince when you drill a hole into the roof (OUCH!).
All you need to do is to run the antenna wire behind the a-pillar, between the car body and headliner, to the back....and you should be done. Make sure to apply lots of primer on the exposed metal to prevent rust buildup.
do an s2000 antenna conversion....I like the automatic antenna, but the conversion looks pretty nice too....ask elegantkamuri or spectrabluecame about it, or take a look at here:

cuz seriously, from what I've heard, buying a new antenna from the dealer costs more than its really worth....
good luck
