2nd Generation the car goes by itself

Does anyone else have this problem what would be the bes thing to do, after driving the car for a while 89 gen camry it tends to accl all by its self when i change gears the revs jump to 4 or 5K a min sometimes and sometimes i just dont touch the accl pedal and it goes in a gear this would be the same problem i take it also the opposite to it is when cold out side wise the engin will not start unless i give it some gass and then if i put my foot down then off quickly the engin dies. it a EFI 89 camry, it drives me crazzy oh and what it the idl supose to be for it not 1.5k revs a min. On a warm day it is fine.
