Gen5 Caring for Camry Paint Finish

S~ i was at the other threads, but still a bit confused. better ask the Camry owners on this one. how do you folks care for your paint finish? what products you use? how often do you wash, polish, wax? what methods do you use or employ to protect the paint? which are the best products to use? do you really need a buffer machine to wax the car? do you need to do any application prior to the winter months of rain and snow? thanks everyone for your kind assistance and support.

i just wax my car once every 2 - 3 months and perhaps wash my car every 3 weeks or so. i use the wax nufinish and i prefer hand wax over a buffer because i can tell how even the wax is. and for winter, theres nothing i feel you should need to do to protect the paint besides the timely once every 3 month wax. i hope this helps

Every three months:

Remove bugs and tar with Tarminator
Wash with Blackfire shampoo

1- Blackfire Clay
2- Blackfire Gloss enhancing polish with White pad on Porter Cable DA
3- Blackfire All finish paint protection applied with black pad on DA (cure for three hours before buffing off)

You can apply by hand, but you get better results with a dual action.

I may switch products now that I am running low on polish, but this set up gives a deep shine and is easy enough to use.

I try to wash my car every week, but it's usually every other week and use a quick detailer like Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray.

and on top of all that, two things to remember- bird shit is bad for your paint, so if it's on your car, get it off as soon as you see it

and if at all possible, park your car indoors to keep it out of the sun
