I have a gen 3 1995 automatic. The brake pedal preassure fluctuates considerably. When I get off the HWY it tends to be softer. During shotr rides tends to be harder. This started to happen after I screwed in the brake light switch, since I was having a defective cruise control. I solved the cruise control problem but, it starting to do this funny thing with the brakes. Then I put the brake light switch to its original position. The cruise control problem came back and the brake pedal pressure fluctuations keep happening. Any ideas please?. Thanks

Perhaps it has something to do with the brake fluids, when was the last time you did a brake fluid flush? Did you check the fluid level?

Check the hose to your brake booster it might be cracked and leaking or the booster can itself maybe leaking.
Brake light switch (electrical) and condition of brake fluid has nothing to
do with brake pedal engagement effort.

yea dude the only thing that affects your brakes are either the rotors/brake pads but with a situation like that is all in the brake fluid. The brake light thing is strictly electrical and would have absolutly nothing to do with the brakes functionalty

Brake fluid level is ok and was changed 2 months ago. All the tests to check for air tightness are ok. and I can't see any craks in the vacum lines. Does the vacum modulator play any rol on this? Is there any chance of having a vacum leack in the booster in spit or air tightness. If that is so how can it be tested.
