so after you paint your center peice are you gonna change the outer lense to teh red/clear or the all clear ones or your gonna keep the amber color in. (i think your car would like nice with the all clear ones but then again those aint legal so yup)

i removed the bulbs from the barke light because it showed thru the edges of my painted center piece. and yes, the brake warning light did go on. so when i installed my indiglos i removed the indicator bulb. problem solved.

i'm sure there's some way of electronically "tricking" the car into thinking that the bulb is still there. but this way was the easiest for me.

You just have to put a resistance of ~640ohm

Lights bulbs are acting like a resistance

The car is just checking if there is a resistance on this wire to make sure the bulb is still working.
If it get nothing, it will turn on the light in the dash

Maybe you'll have to cut the wires to remove the socket and solder the resistor where was the light socket or try to solder it inside the socket.
Or you can put it in parallel of the socket so you'll be able to easily remove the resistance to put back the light bulb.
