halogen vs. halogen projectors

Hey all,

This is my third time trying to post this thread because I keep getting errors yesterday, while trying to post.

Anyway, I'm looking to get some driving lights to replace my multi-surface reflector fog lights on my Camry because I want have more lights directed forward.

There are some nice ones that I've seen but my question concerns about the brightness of regular halogen verses halogen with projectors. I understand that the projectors will give it a nice cut-off, similar to HID projectors. But which halogen lighting type would be brighter for night and bad weather driving in general?

I'll likely put some xenon gas filled bulbs in there for the HID effect hehe.

Thanks in advance.

the projectors would be better in bad weather (i.e. fog) because then you won't have to deal as much with glaring and just illuminating the entire view in front of you due to hte cutoff provided

That's a good point. So maybe I should go with halogen projectors? The output should only be the same as regular halogen, or better right?

it will really just be the same, but without any glare at all as long as the projectors were designed specifically for halogen and not hids

they light output will be the same but with projector you will brighten the road much better since they're focusing onto 1 spot.

Nice, I think I understand. So the brightness is the same, but with projectors, it's the same brightness all in equal parts that the projectors illuminate. But regular halogen have that hot spot at one point and also produce glare, making it uneven.

thanks for both of your input!
