3rd Generation Removing Fuel Neck/Inlet

I searched but didn't find anything on this topic.

i was wondering how do you remove the inlet/neck for the gas tank? basically where you fill it. I think mine has a small hole in it so i wan't to replace it.

Also is all the gen 3 and 3.5 compatible?

Thanks,
Paul

download the repair manual that is linked inthe sticky at the top of the forum page and it will tell youfor sure. '

If i remmebr right you will need to open the gas door and there will be several small screws or bolts. Remove thoseand I think there may be a couple under the car. IT may also be easier to drop the entire tank to get to it. undo the screws at the filler neck then unplug the fuel pump under the back seat. Then there are two straps that hold the tank in place. Use a jack of some sort to support the tank then loosen the straps. THe entire assembly should drop down. Once you do this it is all right there in plain sight.
