4th Generation Wierd water problem, Drivers side

Okay, im very confused at this so bear with me

I have a 1997 Camry LE with approx 95k miles on it.

Recently, after this long long period of rain, ive kept my A/C on all the time to prevent my windows to fog up while driving, so i noticed this puddle that keeps forming under my feet and seat. At first i thought it was water from my feet that didnt dry due to my rubber floor mat (the water got caught under it and didnt dry) So i turned the heater on feet, removed the rubber mat and let it dry.

That didnt work, the water keeps coming back, right now ive got my drivers seat pulled out (literally OUT of the car), all my carpeting pulled back, and its worse that i thought, its all under my seat. Right now ive got my heater on full blast with all the carpeting pulled back letting it dry. I cannot find the source, nor the drain for all this water.

My father was saying that it was the A/C forming condensation and the drain for it was clogged, first of all, i dont even know where this drain is, so its really hard to unclogg it.

If any of you can get some suggestions over to me, id greatly appreciate it!!

I had the same problem in my 86 Integra. For me it turned out that the drain hose for my A/C condensor was clogged. This happens over time as the air box gets filled with dust, leaves, and dirt etc. What you have to do is get a rag, stick your head under the glove compartment and look for a little rubber hose running to the firewall from the blower/air box. This is the drain tube. disconnect it from the blower box and catch any water that falls out with your rag. You can clean out the opening with a hanger or a small screwdriver. Your problem may be different because you have water on the drivers side. This problem usually results in water on the passenger side. But you can check anyway.

Also check your trim pieces and if your are missing any door moldings this could cause the same problem as water fills up your door and seeps into the car.

I think your father and Repponshadyvill are correct. The condensation/water that is formed by using the A/C is suppose to drain outside the car through a rubber drain hose. If that rubber hose get's clogged, the water can wind up inside the car. The easy fix is to take the car in somewhere where they can put it up on a hoist, locate your drain hose and then simply blow some compressed air back up through it. That usually solves the problem and usually doersn't cost very much.

My 98 Gen4 had the same problem. It was taken to the dealership and they unclogged the drain tube underneath the car for the heater core and it cleared up the problem. This is a common thing. If that doesn't clear it up, then the heater core is busted and you will need a new one. Cost = 375 at the dealer to replace it.\

The tube is located underneath the car, right side (at least on my Acura Legend and my mom's Gen 5 Camry) in the middle lengthwise and a little from the middle to the right side it should be black or a clear tube. It looks like it is comming from underneath the passenger front seat.
