hello all,
heres my situation, any info would be greatful, i have spent a few hours searching already and havent found an exact answer to what is happening.
car is a 95 camry 2.2 (5s-fe), 5sp w/air.
basically i got the car and went to change the spark plugs and one snapped below the ring. so i had to remove the cyclinder head and bring it to the machine shop so they can drill it out and install a heli-coil.
ok that worked out fine.
since i had the motor apart i replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, plugs, wires, head gasket, valve cover gasket, etc. (the inside of the intake manifold was filthy black like caked on, and the head was dirty to) i sprayed throttle body cleaner while the engine was running.
so everything is back together, timing is dead on, but my idle is out of control. it fluctuates from 1500-2000rpm and doesnt go steady. all my sensors are hooked up, coolant is topped off, vacuum hoses are on. i can disconnect the isc (little white box below throttle body) while the car is running and nothing happens. adjusting the tps just changes how quick the idle surges. when the car is running theres this little bell shaped thing thats pulsing with the idle. it sits right in front of the throttle cable hook up. and if i pull off the vacuum hose to that still nothing changes. im pretty confused here, should i replace my tps and isc? im gonna try cleaning the tb and isc tomm. its weird though because nothing seems to help.
any input would be very helpful,
thank you
Dan
