4th Generation Penny Problem

In a nutshell i had too much change in the little storage space in front of the tranny shifter and i managed to get a penny stuck in the secondary 12volt power source. Its stuck in the wide way, face up completely blocking the power source and its jammed all the way at the bottom. My question is if I take out the 12 volt source will I be able to pop the coin out from behind?

should be able to disassemble the whole socket.

btw, I'd pull the fuse asap ... its connected to the clock and the radio as well. I had a phone charger fall apart in the socket, the fuse didn't snap and it shorted my hu

As I read this I would guess you are missing the cap that covers your 12V source? Once you get your penny out, I'd suggest you get the cap replaced, from a junkyard if possible.

Same thing happened to me on my old car. I couldn' t figure out what kept blowing fuses so unfortunately I took it into the shop. I don't remember how much they charged me, but it was way to much to remove a dime from the cig lighter!

Disconnect the battery (or the fuse if you are absolutely certain you know which one it is) and then use a dental pic or something like it to pull it out. I don't believe you will have to disassemble anything else.

Good luck.

All you got to do is disassemble it and take the penny out and it should work without a problem. Like they said^^^^^^^^^.
