I have upgraded the array with 13 more LEDs for the knobs. All I have left to complete is the A/C button and the defrost which are easy. Here are the pics:
PC board cut out with LEDs in place:
Everything wired up:
Now here is the tricky part.
I wired the LEDs so the temperature knob changes according to your desired climate. In the cold position, the knob is blue and in the hot position it is red. Right in the middle it is purple. Here are the results:
Mate...huuuge props for that..looks fantastic. Inspired by your work, i'm doing it to my Gen 2. It's a little different, but its going to look good. What I wanted to know was how did you power it? Did you splice into the main power wire for the illumination for the controls? Or did you branch off somewhere else?
Thanks!

Snakeyes,
I've got to admit, I've been in this community (Camryman.org, Solaraguy.org and Toyotanation.com) since about 1992 and you've been the only person that when they post I have to read what they came up with next. Awesome job on all your mods. Any pics of the outside of the car is or it stock? I tried the radio LED mod but after trying for a couple days I gave up. I figure I'll just get a new headunit that lights up red. Again great job on your modifications. Jon.
