Gen5 Doing a Tint Job in Winter

Is is safe to do the tinting on windows in the winter? i was told not to do it now because of the cold weather is setting in and the tint will not stick on too well? man, i really need to get some shade on my glass. i got to darken it up. however, i dont want to spend the loot and then have a bad job as the end result. any views on this situation?

If you get it tinted proffessionally at a detail shop the weather doesnt matter.

As for the cold. I dont think it matters if its above 32*.

I did my windows 20% last winter. Here are mine:

And if you do get it done at a good shop, there is warranty.
..so if it does go whack, they will fix.

Typically, there is no problem tinting in winter.

It just takes longer for the tint solution to evaporate(usually about a week)

I'm planning on tinting my windows very soon. My stereo faceplate got jacked recently too but anyways,

Is there like a reknown, popular brand of Window Tint. I want a professional look not some cheap purple/black crap with bulbbles in the middle.

I'm looking for a Black Tint on the outside but through the Inside, it gives the Most Clear and Visible bright look. My bro. has some cheap tint that came on his camry and at night it's too difficult to see through the Windows. Which brand of black tint give the Most Visibilty???

I got my windows tinted on my Paseo back when it was new in late 1991. The tint shop completed the job on Saturday, and left the car in their heated shop until Monday. The tint started to finger on the back window, but that was from the old school installation technique. One of my side triangle windows started to bubble about a year ago, and that was from it being so old.

The purple looking tint is from the dye based film, and one layer or layers of the tint fade, thus appearing purple. Common tint today is metallic based. There are some dye based films still out there though.

I would consider getting the rear window done by a professional. A good tinter will do the whole window in one piece, with no problem. One always has to worry about defroster line damage when removing a subpar or old tint job. Might as well get a good job done in the first place.

thanks for sharing your insight mate. i went to a place here on Staten Island, and they qouted me $236.00. they say they have a computer that cuts the tint, etc. and their jobs come out perfect with updated from the mfgs, etc. on the exact measurements. i am only worried about the cold weather setting in now in NYC. the guy said i would just have to keep the windows closed an extra 2 or 3 days longer, etc... i think i will wait now until spring time again. i was worried about the defroast, radio lines on the rear window too.

$236 dollars for some tints! To call that a rip-off is the understatement of the century. I got five of my windows done at 30% tint for only $90 and they look wonderful. Everyone is always asking me where I got them done.

The conputer cut tints by Hylan Blvd in Staten Island near the Mitsubishi dealership does a good job, A friend of mine got his Evo VIII tinted there for around the same price and it came out nice, he got his done during the fall of last year and nothing happened to his tints.

Its that much cause its computer cut, i know some places that charge $90 but the work it totally different, the tint does not go all the way on tip of the glass, my other friends had got them done and had to retint them so many time cause of bubbles and signs of peeling at the bottom portion of the window
