V6 3.0 Auto question

Hey, i have a 1994 Gen3 camry V6 3.0 automatic. Im curious on how i can get more power and faster accelleratoin. I get killed by 5speed I4's... like stupid little fords , and VW's... I dont understand i have a WAY bigger engine... granted mine is an auto but thats the only diff... Is there something i can do to make my car actually waste those things like it should?

I too have a 1994 V6 3.0L XLE auto, and I can SMOKE the cars your talking about!
I dunno.. but mine is a cheeta off the line. As a matter of fact, last night 10-21-05
I was at a red light and next to me a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE pulled up.
Next thing I know we are off. I was with him to the next light... nose to nose.
I was amazed, as was he.

the 5spd i4 should be a TINEY bit slower then an auto v6.

sounds like you need a service.

idk....something about that sounds fishy...cuz my reaserch shows your 0-60 should be about 8 seconds.

his would be about under 7.

I don't know what mods you have, and we don't know anything about his car, because it max have been modded. Are you sure it wasn't a 00-01 max?

a maxima would definitely win... you got lucky with a crappy driver probably...

i'd say do some regular stuff, and then if that doesnt work...
do a tranny swap
do a turbo kit (after i have them up for sale)

To be used only in an off public close course with safety crew present. Permission slips from everyone's mothers too. This is something to be used only when a Accord load of Taliban men are trying to kidnap you as a hostage.

Street light action for slushboxes requires method. With car running and at standstill, put car in gear (ECT in pOWER mode/OD off).
Stand on your brakes and apply accelerator.
This is an excercise so apply it slowly enough until you can feel where it locks/stalls. That is the sweetspot, remember where it is. Commit to memory.
Now try the same thing again but release the brakes when you get to that sweet spot and don't let go. Stock i4s fall into your rearview mirrors.

Wash up before dinner.

sounds good amerikim. Thanks for your help guys. I'm planning on doing some low end Intake inhancements such as a better CAI and i dunno about an electric turbo... maybe not but a performance chip... and some other various things. Once again... thanks if you have any other information that could help me out I'm all ears for it.

Electric turbo...no. Clean the throttle body and get some new plugs and a full tuneup. Short ram intake is fine for the V6.
