how to install sidemarker?

I am interested in installing sidemarker onto my 2001 Camry..
but of all the installation guide I can find on the internet, they talked about splice the wire for the turn signal..
okay.. unlike most of you guys, I don't have much car mechanical skill..
so I don't understand what they mean by "splice" the wire.. I have to cut the wire to the turn signal? can any of you explain clearly how it is done?
is there a really detailed guide on how to install sidemarker? (ie. how to install sidemarker for dummies)

You don't necessary need to "cut" the wire. It's stripping some of the insulation and soldering the new wire to it and covering the connection with electrical tape.
