EFI fuse blowing problem.

Ok..i have a bit of a dilema. My EFI fuse (15A) keeps blowing everytime i go to start the car. On ACC or IGN its all fine...ECU has power (SAFC2 turns on...Ignition Computer turns on) but when I go to start the motor, it turns over for a second or so then the EFI fuse blows.

Any ideas!?
(Prompt response would b great as the car is sitting in the street around the corner haha).

Thanks

Maybe a short in the wiring, Heck to get it off the corner i'd put a bigger fuse to it even though it's dangerous lol

Yeah. Short from what tho!! I don't know how the starter is related to the EFI fuse...just cant think of wat it is. And if i put a bigger fuse in the EFI (i might aswell just short it) then i risk blowing the ECU of something.

EFI Relay - Just checked and works fine.

blowing the efi fuse seems to be a common toyota problem (by world standards) google "efi fuse blowing" and the first page is ALL TOYOTA with not a hint of any other manufacturer

Oky..found the problem after some cursing...

My battery is relocated to the boot, and I have a Jaycar circuit breaker in there. That seems to have shat itself..which cut the electrical system...which caused my little switch to cut the fuel pump to blow...so what was happening was, the EFI fuel pump wasn't working (coz of the switch being stuffed) and it was blowing the EFI fuse. After taking that switch out and running it direct as it was b4...and getting rid of the crappy circuit breaker (which was the cause of the problem in the first place), it start good...and ran. But, it wouldn't idle. Couldn't figure out why unless it blew something else like the IAC or wateva. So i thought id disconnect the battery, press the brake to purge the electrical system and BAM all is good. Start good...runs well..and idles .

So the moral of the story...don't use a CRAPPY circuit breaker to take care of the cars main electrical system...battery is going back up front and im leaving it at that...

^ lol...at least you found the problem....but kind of a waste to relocate the battery all hte way back up after moving it back tho, no?

why not just get a good circuit breaker?
