How to tell a TRD from a non-TRD....and VIN decoding?

hey,

I'm trying to figure out if my friend is bullshitting me. He tells me he has a TRD solara when I think it isn't.
If you want to buy a TRD, do you have to buy the extra body kit and wheels. Do TRDs come standard with a sunroof? What are some other ways to tell a TRD from a SLE?

Also, where can I go to find some information on VIN decoding for the Toyota Solara? Thanks a lot...I hope I can get to the bottom of this.

basically, a TRD solara is a SLE, or SE or whatever, usually the SLE that comes w/ the bodykit and TRD wheels (and struts and/or supercharger)..
thats it...everything else is the same.
i have a TRD SLE, my buddie had an TRD SE..so it depends what u want..its just a package you get...

Is it possible for the car to have a TRD supercharger under the hood without having any symbols or logos saying TRD? **If you are sure they did not manually remove them**

The VIN has nothing to do with TRD. TRD has various cosmetic and suspension "Pkgs" that can be added to a stock vehicle

The only official TRD Solaras are the Grand Prix of Long Beach cars, which were only sold in SoCal. ALL other Solaras with TRD packages are either installed by the dealer or installed by the buyer.

YES!

And the logo CAN BE put on afterwards, as it does not come that way off the factory line.

I got a Nokia TRD edition Cell phone, TRD edition Laptop and TRD edition underwear...

And yes, my car is the offical TRD car (01/01)cause I got that 30&quot; TRD sticker....hee hee

TRD Solara is just like the other Solara just will all those TRD option on it....nothing special.
