Interior Adhesive???????????????

So, I need a good adhesive for a couple things.

I got a replacement passenger airbag whose cover is slightly lifted in one corner. Not major, but I know when I install it I'll look at it constantly......it'll bug the heck outta' me.........soooo..........I wanna glue it back down so it stays down.

I also have a piece of exterior door trim that I want to stick down. I figured I want a similar (super, forever sticky) adhesive to do both of these jobs.

Here's what I found searching.................

HOt Glue gun = BAD!!! Do not use on car interior.

Rubber Cement = Good....no brainer.

3M weatherstripping adhesive = Good.....???

Gorilla Glue = 21st century's rubber cement??? (I googled this stuff, but appears to be more of a home adhesive & also has some "expansion" during curing to account for. Dunno if I wanna "guess" on expansion.

Anybody got any other suggestions or feedback on the above????

go down to like Lowes and get some 3M spray on ahesive but get the super sticky or whatever its called, not just the regualr shit. Put it on the surface, blow dry it for about a minute maybe 2 depending on the temp outside then put the material over it and blowdry again. If its cold outsdie try and take this into a garage and make the room temp at least luke warm or it wont work for shit. I have already dont this, if u click on my link in my signature it takes u to my picutres and if u look at my interior shot I did the whole interior in black crush velvet with the 3M spray on ahesive

Well, sounds like that's good stuff, but I'll definitely need something in a tube. Either that or figure out a way to apply it in very tight spots.

I just wanna make sure it sticks for good!

lots of heat my man..lots of heat....if you do anything in cold temp its WONT stick guarantee it. you need to heat the glue so it spreads PLUS hot glue is that much more sticky and less likly to loss its grip. that and if u can sand for a smooth surface. But anything you do, borrow your moms or your sisters or SOMEONES blowdryer for best results

The 3M weather stripping adhesive is pretty good for just about anything, if you want it to be in atube. I used to use that stuff for jsut about everything when I was working at the dealership I worked at. Just be careful with it if you havent ever used it before because it can be a bitch to get off of stuff you dont want it on.

If it's the stuff I remember, I think it comes out kinda' yellow??? And it turns into almost a "gum" ???

I think I used it a long time ago to glue-in some roll-down window sashes.

And, yes, I think I kinda' need something less like a "hard" glue and more pliable 'cuz these airbag covers actually have a wee bit of padding on them, so I think to keep it consistent, that 3M weatherstripping adhesive would be a good choice.

Next, I'll have to figure out how to keep weight on it overnight, 'cuz the airbag cover is rounded like the dash, so I think I'll lay it in a bean-bag chair so I can get that lifted corner pointing up & then rest weight on it from there.
