I searched and cant really find a list of what im looking for. I wanna know EXACTLY all the differences between a 2003 camry and a ES-300 lexus. NOT just the obvious stuff, like engine and leather seats, but I want a rundown on mechanical, suspension, sound insulation etc....EXACT stuff....IS there anywhere to find this info??
Im talking the real stuff, like spring rates, where more insulation is used to absorb sound, all that kinda detail, not just a list of 10 standard features or options.
seeming that service handbooks arent available to the public, rent out both cars and have a thoughrough go over both of em.

That is almost impossible to do because most of that stuff is not going to be listed on any website you will find. You will not find it on the Toyota or Lexus site and anyone doing reveiws of the car is not going to take it apart to find that kind of stuff out. Way to time consuming and doesnt really serve a purpose. The cars are geared towards toatlly different buyers.
Are you wanting to know so you can decide which one to buy or you jsut want to know.
If it is to buy the best thing to do is test drive both of them and pick the one that best suits your needs.

Both are same. Small things like color corordinated wipernozzles, hiding wipers, and small stuff sets ES apart from the camry. What i love about my es is that its still made in Japan and not kentucky! I think that prob why i would buy again...
i have driven the ES300 enough and I own a Camry...
jhbhatia is right..small stuff sets it apart...
although i don't think that you would be able to find information like
how much sound insulation there is and such..you would need to rent one and
take it apart.

I just have to say theres not much of ANY difference between the two. Even the engine is the same. Both come with the standard 3.0L V6. It like asking whats the difference between a firbird and a camero..NOTHING but some body molding and different lighting (headlights, tailights, ect) All your paying for with the extra 8000-10000$ is the name "Lexus"

...... the camry has 6 grams of sound dampening material and the lexus has 9 grams in the XYZ components of the car
I am just inerested in knowing what a person would need such info for.
Curiosity. As from what I see the 2 cars are quite similar. Just basic knowledge and perhaps some of the better sound isolation from the lexus could be incorporated into a camy quite easily.
