Help on diagnosing a problem

I have 98 Camry V6 and have a little problem. This started about 3 weeks ago: Starting the car takes longer than usual (the remote starter has to try a few times to successfully start the car), when my car is idle (not pressing the gas or parked) my lights, interior and exterior (headlights, gauges, HVAC displays) gets really dim and somewhat flickers real fast. The light gets brighter as I step on the gas. Both these problems started at the same time. I want to know what the problem is, I'm really bad with cars but I think its either the battery or alternator? Any help is appreciated.

if they aren't already, move the terminals as far down on the battery as possible. my camry had the same thing: the lights dim, and sometimes wont even start.
i thought it was the battery at first, but it did the same thing with a new battery. turns out the connection of the top of the battery isnt as secure a spot as the bottom of it.

if that doesnt work, check alternator. or just go to a shop and get it checked out

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
