4th Generation Uneven brake pad wear

So I took the caliper off today and found that brake pad on the side of the engine is completely gone while the one on the outside is completely new. I just swapped them to see what happens and yes, it doesn't grind metal to metal anymore. Well it does a bit but almost not noticeble. What can cause this problem? I'm sure it's defenetly something wrong with the caliper. And plus my parking brake light stays on even after i filled up the fluid.

Any suggestions on this problem???

Bad rotor and/or something wrong with the caliper. I'm leaning towards a bad caliper though.

The caliper moves on guide pins. If one or both of them are sticking, it causes uneven pressure to be applied to the pads.

Theres always going to be uneven pressure since the caliper is a "floating" type. And theres piston(s) on only one side of the caliper.

But what your experiencing is not normal. IE: only one pad wearing out.

you could have a stuck brake pads, make sure they slide well,if not file the end of the pad and put some silicone on it.

My first guess would also be the slide pin(s) are sticking. If you can really move them that easily, then the next thing to check would be to see if the piston itself has siezed in the caliper and therefore is not retracking, causing the pad on that side to always be in contact with the rotor. Was the pad that was completely worn down on the piston side? There may also be some excessive heat if this is the case. After driving a while, put you hand on the wheel on that side (don't touch the rotor itself as that is extremely hot!) and feel the heat. Then for a comparison, feel the wheel on the other side. Is there a noticeable different in the heat? This type of problem and the heat created might also cause the car to pull to the opposite side when braking. If the caliper piston is seized, you need to rebuild the caliper if possible, or purchase and install a rebuilt caliper.
