Ok, we went on a trip today. This morning, the rear speaker was fine. Hears the story. We went on a trip to Savannah. My mothers favorite song came on. It has great amounts of bass. Anyway, she turned it all they way up. Then we heard a rattle. I turned it down, and it stopped. Then, I turned it back up, and then heard it again. I pulled over to a nearby gas station. I looked in the cargo area, and nothing was touching the speaker. I pulled down the back seat, and checked for any tears. Nothing. Then, we drove off. Now, I want to know if anything is in the speaker. I want to take the grille off, and check. Is there anyway that I can take it off? What do you think is wrong with it? Please help me. I've come too far for something like this to happen to her.(Camera)
You can either P.M. Me, or you can e-mail me at: toyotaavalon@hotmail.com Thanks in advance!
P.S. This is my mothers stock 2002 Camry LE. Nothing has happened to it yet.
its nothing serious, just regular rattling from the rear deck.. if u want to try and get rid of it, u can take off the rear deck cover and put some foam in between. that should suffice.
It might be the speakers themselves... since the song has heavy bass and you turned it up, the speakers themselves might have gone bad. The paper cone inside the speakers might have ripped...

Yea, it is serious(so my mom say, I just want her to stop bothering me about it) I will try that.

Metallic, kinda scratchy. Its very annoying. Makes her not want to drive it any more. In my SE, I have a JBL System. I had my rear deck speakers transferred to the door. And, I had the Stock Toyota Subwoofer added in teh middle of the deck. ever scince then, I have had no problems at all. No, how do I take teh deck out? By the deck, you mean teh carpet part?

This has not happened before. This song has came on many many many times before, and my mom has turned it up many times louder than that. Teh speaker probably just got tired of that happening. Maybe it just wanted to take a brake.I think I'm going to order another speaker for her, and let Toyota put it in. (that will cost me a arm, and a leg) But its a Toyota. Its worth it.
Yea, dude, sounds like one of your speakers are dead. It's happened to me before at a sound system compitetion. This was before I learned to tune systems. I had the bass too high and didn't have a hi pass filter on my speakers and blew the rear speakers.
How to remove rear deck
1. Fold down rear seats
2. Remove both side panels
--- Take your time and be patient with this, but some force will be required
--- There are about 7 hooks, start at the top where the panel meets the roof and work you way down.
--- You are going to pull outward so as to get it to pop out.
--- Once you have gotten 2 or 3 free try to stick you hand inside and push them out while you pull.
--- Lastly pull the panel towards you, until you unhook the bottom.
(Try to find the hook with your fingers so that you apply pressure in the correct area and avoid breaking them.
3. Now remove the rear deck.
--- Lift up
--- Pull toward you
--- Lie it flat on the rear seats upside down.
YOUR DONE.
On a scale of 1 to 10 the difficulty is about 6.
As for the rattle i have something similar but all ihad to do was tighten a bolt, you may want to consider some sound deader. Second Skin Audio, RAAMAT, BQuiet Ultimate, etc.

I worked for the company that made the speakers for the Gen 3. The radio and speakers are a package deal from Fujitsu Ten, but in reality they only make the radio and amp., the speakers were made, by Onkyo Mfg. The same company that makes home audio equipment. The speaker division is now out of business. Anyway, it sounds like the voice coil is hitting the top plate or a piece of the magnet has gotten between the voice coil and top plate. I'm sorry to say, but this problem is terminal. It's just a matter of time before the voice coil wire is cut and the circuit is broke. Replace the speaker.
