HID Headlights...

Quick Question, I have an 2003 camry, I wanted to change the headlights into one of the HID crystal blue or crystal white, I was wondering, is HID the only type? are there different types?
Which ones do you guys recommend? what brand?

Are you trying to put "HID-like" or "similated HID" halogen bulbs into your car? Or are you wanting to put real HID from another car onto yours?

If you want HID look-alike halogen bulbs, there are many out there (some of which are illegal), but there have been numerous threads on this forum that talks about this subject. HID retrofits have also been dicussed quite a bit as well.

Try searching for keywords like "HID" "Silverstar" "Projectors" etc... you'll come up with some nice threads

i have the HID (Xeon filled) look-alike bulbs in my car... and they produce probly 20%+ more light than the stock bulbs that where in there... but mine are the "illegal" ones that i had shiped over from japan... but the cops cant tell the diffrence so it isnt that big of a deal.... the good thing about the ones that i have is they dont hurt my eyes cause the old ones made everthing a werd yellowish color and the new ones dont.

I like phillips for REAL hid. As for the fake ones that I have, they're nokya. Haven't had any probs. with them and I love em'. I tried the silverstars and returned them because I couldn't tell a difference between the old ones and them.
