Talking Toyota Camry Supercharger is almost here

OK i spoke to the Manager at TRD and he told me a few things first a Supercharger for the camry gen 5 is on the table to be developed it is not guaranteed but he said almost definately sure it will come to prouction
Also the trd website has been hacked by someone who has almost crippled them he said
And Last one a new company has merged with TRD and he said in about 2-3 Months a new catalog with a huge line of options for the camry will be available

I really, really hate to be the voice of skepticism, but this is a decidely non-committal commitment. 'On the table' means they're thinking about it, which is what they said about a Gen 3 unit back when they were working on the unit for the Gen 4 3.0L 1MZ-FE. If they're talking about a V6 supercharger, you've got a long wait on your hands-- the promise of maintaining manufacturer warranties means that any product released by TRD carries enormous potential liability in terms of warranty repairs if something goes wrong. Bottom line: lots of testing time! More likely: releasing the 2.4L I4 supercharger, just launched for the tC, in a Camry-specific application. Again, though, we're talking about a lot of potential test-time.

Could be interesting... you've got to wonder if there will be anything among these options that isn't already available elsewhere-- body kits, springs, exhaust, etc. Keep your fingers crossed!

I was under the impression the MZ engine life was to be scrapped after this gen. Why have something on the table for an MZ s/charger when the gen5 is prob in its last year of production. Maybe for gen6....If anything i think the Tc charger will be adapted for the 2az in camry's if anything. Thats it...If any of the MZ guys are waiting for one...you will be waiting forever....
