Thumbs down Cruise Control Acting funny....

This is just what i need, something else is wrong with my car. When i was bringing my sister home from school, i turned the cruise control on and set it, it didnt set so i did it agian, the light didnt come on and when i would press the button to turn it on again, it would turn off, i ignored it for a few seconds and it was flashing, and when it stopped i couldnt turn it on again until i restarted the car.... Any thoughts/ideas why this is happening?

Check all your brake lights. If none of them are working then it may be the brake light switch that is located at teh brake pedal arm. My brother in laws did this. IT could be intermittent. Check your fuses for the cruise control also. That is the only thing I can think of right now

3rd Generation

For what it is worth... under the cover for yout cruise, there are small magnets... make sure they are still there, or do not have any debris or gunk on them. I have not "seen" them, but I had a similar issue. I set the cruise, and all of a sudden, the car.. started to accellerate, then... it slowed down.. it was like it "lost" its spot and was trying to find it again. I pulled off into a rest area, and turned off the car.. looked.. was not able to see anything... no toosl either. When I cranked it back up and got going again, I set the cruise and no more problems. I told my Toyota Tech friend about it and he said what I said in the begenning. I took the Camry in to the Toyota shop and David checked it out... said it was a leaf... a dead leaf in there. It is running 100% now.. no more issues.
Just FYI.. and my situation.
