Gen5 full synthetic oil question

so today I took my car in for the 10K oil change

my brother works at a car joint so he hooked me up and gave me full synthetic oil for the no synthetic price $17.75

so anywho my question is this

after I got the oil changed it felt as if the camry was more willing to go faster than before

I do not want to say I gained HP but it felt as if it did

does sythetic really make a diffrence?

I was doing 90 on the highway and it felt like I was only doing 80

could it be the placebo effect? lol. just kidding. i am up for my 10K change too, but i just take her to the toyota dealer center since i got this package on oil changes. however, i read that toyota has a special oil for their cars that is suppose to be the best.

I cant tell the difference between 80 and 90 unless I look at the sppedometer.

maybe, your old oil was extremely bad. Just doing an oil change made the difference.

From what I understand new synthetic oil and new regular oil are very similar in characteristic besides the fact that synthetic is a little thinner. The main difference is when the oil ages and it has been subjected to high temperatures often. synthetic is more resiliant.

At least that is what I thought

Nah, I felt a difference too. I just switched up to full synthetic at 64K miles, and I felt a BIG difference. The engine runs smoother, quieter, and I don't feel it anywhere near as much through the gas pedal.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

I meant most of the time you can feel the engine revving higher to reach 90

and after the oil change it wasnt revving to get to 90 it just went

the oil wasn't too bad I had it changed at 5K
