i've used the search tool a lot and haven't been able to find the information i'm looking for. i'm looking to purchase new tires for my 2000 Camry XLE V6. I live in Canada, so i need all seasons.
I chose the Bridgestone RE950 because they seem like the ideal tire but i learned that they don't make them in the 205/60/16 size. they have them in 215/55/16 size though. i wanna know if anyone has tried this combination on the stock rims or if someone would recommend not to do it.
Yes, 215/55/16 will work on the stock rims. The stock rims are 6" wide. I've seen 225's on the stock rims. They work, but the tires look a bit pinched. By the way, the 215/55/16 size will be a little smaller diameter than the stock tire. Check out the Miata tire gauge that the last poster recommended. It's very helpful.

Sowy, I don't know the answer to your other Qs.
Hey Phi, how's going. I been looking at that site but the info is some what confusing. From the site it recommend 215/50R17 for the 17 x 7 rims but you're running 225/45R17 as well as the TRD rims and I'm getting 17 x 7 and they also recommend 225/45R17 but from the site this would really put your speedo of by like 2%. So I don't know I guess I should go with the recommended tire from the rim manufacture. BTW how is the ride with 17 rims? Rough? or about the same.
A lot of people use 225/45/17 on Camrys and Solaras, especially if their cars are lowered. The slightly smaller diameter eliminates the potential for rubbing the fender lips when the car is lowered. This small of a difference in diameter won't really be significant for speedo issues. Over or underinflation of the tires causes almost the same situation.
