I need help!! Please HELP!!!

 I had written a post before about the fuel injector problem with my new 92 V6 LE Camry... well it turned out that the problem was more than just the injectors... it was the whole engine... So I looked up to see what my options were... I found a place in VA where I got my hands on a JDM 3VZFE with less than 45K miles on it... took it back to NY with me and took it to a shop... they started the job and put down the old engine... now they're telling me that the JDM one doesn't fit!!! What can I do??? Is there a difference??? Has anyone here done such a swap??? Was it the sensors? The manifolds? It's the same engine, what can be done to make it fit???

Please help!!

Look around TN SC3 or CAMRYMAN for Wraith. Justin (aka Wraith) should be able to give you some A's for your Q's
Good Luck

sorry to hear that it was more than just the injectors, not to mention the JDM not fitting. I've never heard of anybody using a JDM 3VZ-FE yet. However, generlly speaking they should bolt up pretty well. You might encounter probs with ECUs ans stuff. I don't know...free bump to the top

...

I believe they're talking about the intake/exhaust manifolds not fitting.... My other mechanic tells me that they could easily take the old manifolds from the old motor and put them on the JDM one... The ECU and wire harness should work okay... I just don't want them to use the old intake manifol since it was the one with the bad injectors in the first place....

Seriously, track down Justin (aka Wraith) He has one of the first well built 3S-GTE's pushing 450whp. The boy knows the ins and outs of camrys and their motors.

the JDM 3VZ-Fe is the exact same engine as the US 3VZ-FE....I don't understand why it wouldn't fit.

well...

Well I went to see the 'differences' he was talking about... The engine is in fact the same... However the intake manifold on the american version has many additional valves for emissions I guess (some water by-pass thing which holds additional sensors, the JDM manifold doesn't have them!)... I told him just swap the old manifold onto the JDM and carry on with the job... So pray for me guys that everything works out fine!!

good news

To all those who helped, I need to say thanx for the concerns and supports! The swap went good... the USDM manifold was put in to replace the JDM one and it all ran smoothly... the only thing is that the waterpump broke, but the mech will just buy it and replace free of charges... Now let's see what this Camry has i store....

The US version has the EGR system needed to comply with our emissions.

update

Swap went well... the engine is working... the only thing is that the "check engine" light comes on... The mech says that it's one of the sensors, and that was probably was was wrong with the car in the first place!! (to think that maybe the new engine wasn't needed...Oh well)... My girl wants to take it to a dealership and have it checked out. Maybe the Toyota folks will be able to determine which one better... The car doesn't smoke, it feels good, it pulls nice, and there aren't any visible leaks... Guess we'll wait and see what's up?...

P.S. I have the fuel rails, 6 fuel injectors, a JDM intake manifold, and throttle body as spare parts... if anyone is interested, I could ship them out for a fair price... if interested lemme know!
