Help!!!!3rd gen camry

Ok, i just got this camry not too long ago,but after i changed the oil
and distributor the fricken car is messed up. it starts out fine
but when I put it into Reverse, the car completely dies out.
is it my reverse sensor? or can it be that when i changed the distribitor cap that i couldve
messed up some how? and does this mean that the training is bad now? let me know
thanks

So the car ran fine until you changed the Distributor cap?

IF you dont put the car in reverse is it drivable? (D) wont turn your car off, right?

When you put it in reverse does the car stumble, RPMs jump around, car kicks back and forth or is it a sudden stop?

Keep in mind the responses you will get are mearly suggestions, dont go changing your trany just because some one here tells you to, do it because you have exhausted all other possible problems.

The only thing I can suggest would be to check the spark plug wires, you might have transposed one with another and now the car is not firing off the Cylinders in the correct order.
