Handbrake adjustment

Hey all,

Just wondering how do you do a handbrake adjustment on a gen 2. All mine does when you pull up the handbrake is act like your just touching the brakes and when you stop on even a slight hill, you need to pull them up alot.

Start by checking the rear pads clerance with the drums and the pads themselves.

A hole plug in the drum gives you access to the adjuster. Adjust it to have a slight clearance.

If it doesn't work remove the back portion of the center console, the adjustment nut is there.

I have a V6 Camry, which means no drum brakes in the rear. How do I adjust my e-brake?

Your care will have drum in disc brakes at the back. The inner part is where the hand bake shoes are, there a small notches in the wheel side of it, above the studs. But a flat flade screwdriver into the hole and lever up a few times, until the you feel resistrance when turning the rotor. Then back off 1 notch.
