i've been thinking about it since your first post...
1.most of the things only come on when you flick the switch...ie lights, even the wipers.
2. starter, but i dont' even know were or how to do it or if it's even safe.
3. maybe reverse wiriring it....do a long extention from the cig lighter back into the engine bay or something.
the wipers and the starter don't come on without positioning the key to ON....
how do the wipers draw power...does it have power automatically and by turning the column stick, it tells it to come on, or does the power go through the column switch then to the wipers? ...*do you get where i'm going?
hmm...how about to the alternator, that will only be on when you have the engine on though.....
hope i helped, or at least, a free bump

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.
--Can honestly go to a parts counter and ask for brake shoes for the front brakes.

hook into the stereo or something, which tells your relay under the hood to come on, that in turn is directly connected to the battery but with a fuse?

Angel eyes that turn on with the key in ACC or ON. I want them always on with the car, just silly to run a wire from the inside to the engine bay, ya know?
Then use a multimeter and check for voltage at the fuse block.
Mostly the bigger stuff comes on with ignition, accessories are usually inside stuff. I was thinking along the lines of EFI. Pull the EFI fuse, pop ur multimeter on one end (just guess which side) and put the car on ignition. Im pretty sure the EFI system works off ignition. Then tap off the corrosponding wire underneatg the fuse block with a t-connector. Use a relay of course
EDIT: Or of course the wiper power supply. It too comes on with ignition. Just the EFI fuse area is closer to the front and will look neater.

Hook up a relay from the radiator fan or from the IGN wire of the alternator. I have some lights I'll be making into daytime runners but I'm going to use something called a mate switch that operates via engine oil pressure. The lights won't be on unless the engine is actually running and a capacitor will make them turn off slowly.
