Question shift light question

i was told that i could hook up a shift light by getting a little light that require 12v and run it to the ecu but how??? if this is possile i would like to do that i would like to know where is my ecu located and which pin do i stick the wire in for the light..

try looking for aftermarket tachometers online and see if you can find a user manual. It may have pin diagrams for certain cars.

There is no "pin" you can just stick a light into!...a shift light works by counting the number of pulses from an igniter/distributor/ecu signal(or sometimes other methods). You would need a circuit from the ecu's RPM signal pin, and then have that drive your light. And you don't "stick" the wire into the pin..you piggyback off the wire that goes into the pin with a t-connector.
