Gen5 Aftermarket Stereo Install Pics

Anyone have any pics of aftermarket stereo installations? Thinking about replacing my factory head unit with something aftermarket and wanted to get some ideas. I have a Gen 5, but any install pics would be great. I was looking at the Kenwood DDX8017. This will give me the option to add navigation in the future, not to mention, add a playstation!

Get the Eclipse AVN5435. The factory wiring plugs right into it, your steering wheel controls are automtically connected. It does Navigation with the onboard DVD Navigation Drive, plus another DVD Slot. AND it's the same manufaturer of the factory navigation.

You can also plug a PS2 into it.

It also has a 9 band eq, 24Bit DAC's for better sound quality, etc, etc.

www.eclipse-web.com

www.crutchfield.com is the first authorized online retailer, but if possible, get it locally for a little bit longer warranty.

Gen5

That looks good. Is that a particular install kit that you used to fit the opening? Like a Crutchfield kit or something? And where are you that you are driving a right side steering car? That threw me for a sec.

I also like the Eclipse idea, but a bit pricey! I'm also looking for the best iPod integration solution too if anyone has any opinions on that!

That sounds awesome. Any pics of that unit in a Gen 5?

Will it really retain the steering wheel controls even if you have the standard or JBL sound system?

My last eclipse unit is still going strong at over 8 years old. Nice units!!!

Thanks cam2xrunner. I think I am going with the Eclipse unit now. I will get some pictures of it in my gen 5.5 as soon as I get it and get it installed.

One more question though, do you know if the Eclipse 5435 has the same plugs as the Eclipse 5495? Or I guess my question is really will I still be able to retain my steering wheel controls with the 5495. I am thinking of going for the 5495 because of its added capabilities.
