I think it's better to save some more money and get Gen4 V6, manual tranny, for about 8000$, it runs 7.2 sec. 0-60 and 15.6 sec. 1/4 mile, stock.
and then spend all you can on it,
BTW, TRD gen4 V6 Supercharger, now cost only 1880$.
there is a supercharger for camry but the whole kit is alil more than $3000. if you do swap the engine what are you planning to put in it with a auto tran? to get some speed with your camry require alot more time and money.

I agree, save your money for a faster car. Im sure 3000 is not enough for an angine swap...

and yeah....i3urtonair, no point in s/c-ing a 4..cuz then you'll end up with basically the same as a v6.....
and a swap....better keep on saving for a while longer....
you COULD go buy a gen4 v6 standard....but they're not exactly common, and the 8 grand that fahad is talking about....I think it'd actually be more...that and the fact that everybody knows that the gen3s are the best looking!
but basically....if you really want speed, don't expect much out of the 4....unless you're willing to boost....hahaha....

I agree with the newbie. It'll take a lot of time and dedication though (not to mention $$$). If you're impatient, save for a faster car. $1880 is only a sale price though, right?
Now, the cost of the gen4 V6 TRD S/C is less than 2000$. and the turbo kit for the gen4 i4 is about 2500$. and I dont think that there is a Supercharger for i4
and I think it is better to get a new car than engine or tranny swap, it will save money and time.
Ripp Mods is coming out with a supercharger for the i4 by the end of this month. I'm not sure though on the quality of the unit, but I spoke to the manager and he seemed knowledgable and answered all my questions. We will just have to wait and see how good it is.
