There is an odd noise coming from the front of my car whenever i drive. Its very noticeable when i drive 20-30 mph and then it quiets back down as i drive. it's the loudest around the 20-30 area but i can't figure what it is. I thought it was the plastic piece under my car that was loose.......i fixed that but it still has the sound.
I rev in neutral but the sound isn't there either. I don't know what it is? Do you guys have any clue as to what it could be?
2002 Toyota Camry V6 SE.......it has 52K miles on it now.

does it seem to increase or decrease with speed when it is making noise. Does it seem to go away when you turn the steering wheel while driving. It could be te tires or a wheel bearing. Have you recently had the tires rotated or anythign like that. IF you have maybe the ones that were on the rear and now on the front had some abnormal wear and now it is causing noise inthe front.

PLEASE DO NOT GET RID OF THE OLD TN AS WE KNOW IT.
It's a whirring noise that comes from the front. I can't spot where it is. It increases as i reach 20 mph and then its at its loudest and continues to be loud until it starts decreasing in sound to about 30 mph and then you don't hear it anymore. You can't hear it anymore past 30 mph though. It only comes on whenever my foot is on the accelerator when i'm in the 20-30 range where it is the most noticeable. When i'm just drifting along it doesn't come on.
Ok, i've tried turning the wheel while accelerating but that isn't it because the noise is still there?
what do you guys suggest doing next?

could this be a transmission problem? cause i doubt its the fan, it probably has nothing to do with the intake, maybe something to do with throttle, transmission?
Well ....... he stated that the sound only manifests while the car is in motion and not while revvvving the engine in neutral so that rules out any engine noise.
The only things left are axles, transmission, suspension componentsand anything that moves when the car moves. Now being that he said it disappears after 30mph and is loudest at 20mph I think its a tranny problem..... make sure the dealer has not screwed you and not topped off your tranny fluid.

Someone suggested checking the Wheel bearings and i need to do that. How do i check those myself?
What do you mean but topping off tranny fluid? i don't think it could be the tranny because the sound gets higher and higher in pitch past 30 mph that you don't hear it anymore because the thing that's making the noise is spinning faster and faster? i think it has something to do with the wheels.....i'm hoping its just the wheel bearings so i could fix it... Would it be my huge fender gap be a probable cause?
