4th Generation Is it engine safe for lowbeams to be active during highbeams?

Can I get something cleared up about low-beam HIDs and high-beam halogens? I'm kind of confused after reading from the automotive lighting FAQ.

I plan to split my H4 setup to get low-beam HIDs and high-beam 9005 halogens. I want that whenever I turn on high-beams, the low-beams will remain active.

So the FAQ said, "In theory, using a diode from each of the high and low beam harness in series to trig relay so that low beams gets power even if low beams turn off will prevent this. It works great if you have halogen low beams, but not for HID low beam system. "

Why is that? Doesn't the HIDs use only 42Watts of power after its warmed up, rather than the 55W of halogens?

That confused me a lot. If there isn't proper time for the HIDs to cool down before it turns on again, its life span is shortened. I don't want the HIDs life to shorten because of having it turn off and on when I use high-beams.

I need to know if it will overheat the engine at all.

I believe quality HIDs only consume 35watts of power.
Now for the HIDs running at the same time... my thoughts would be, since your going to be using relays (right?) you can just tap off the activation wire going to the high beamm use a high power (6+ amps) diode and put it on the activation lead on the lowbeams (the HIDS)

and i do believe its bad for the HIDs to be turned off and on a lot (like if you were highbeaming someone)

someone PLEASE correct me if im wrong, i havnt actually done an HID conversion, but i took a LOT of time with research and other stuff!
