Yes, I agree with White chocolate. Never flush your tranny! I even went into a transmission shop asking about getting a tranny flush. He told me he doesn't recommend it because of the damage it can do to the seals. I'd just stick to the drain and refill every 2 yrs. or 30,000 miles.
What does the owners manual recommend? That is always going to be your best resource for information like this or you can ask your dealer. What they recommend is going to be best for the vehicle and also make sure you stay in waranty guidleines if for some reason you would need warranty repairs. SInce the trans is part of the powertrain it will be covered until 60K miles. You would hate to jsut let it go until it blows up and for some reason that is within the first 60k miles and then you have to fork over the money for the trans when it could have been taken care of under warranty.
I know when I was working for Toyota we jsut did drain and refills every 30k miles. IT was part of the 30k mile service.

PLEASE DO NOT GET RID OF THE OLD TN AS WE KNOW IT.
You can drain the transmission, drop the pan and clean the screen and magnets. Just flush it off with clean fluid.
You could also flush the transmission at home if you want. Not difficult, just time consuming, and then you need to figure out how to get rid of bunch of used transmission fluid.
Pull the line where fluid goes into the radiator and put it into a bucket or a jug. Start the engine and drain about 1-1.5 qts. Stop engine. Fill back the ammount that drained out. Repeat for about 10-15 quarts.
Don't forget to drain and refill the differential while you're at it.

to add to the above, it would be easier to figure out how much trans fluid to put back in by marking quart marks on the bucket being drained into. so if a quart comes out, a quart goes back in. exactly.
