3rd Generation Nitrous upgrade

I have a few questions on the nitrous upgrade on the 1mz. I have read a few other topics on it for the 1mz but rather my difference is, with the upgrade of "wet" and "dry" shots, what is the difference in performance and overall engine capability?

Also, will i need to get a boost guage and whatnot to be able to tell how much i'm boosting or is there an automatic control that will stop it at the certain boost so you don't go over and have a chance on blowing/overheating your engine/tranny?

just thought of another question. If i wanted to upgrade the parts to get more boost, what should i do and how much do you think it would cost?

2nd Generation

im not to familier with nitrous but from what i understand of it is the wet is safer than the dry because i think dry goes into your intake and your wet is a direct system that goes straight into your intake manifold and it also mixes your gases better, but venom makes a kit that has a solenoid than sees how lean your car runs if it gets to lean it kills the nitrous. but dont qoute on everything but if anyone wants to correct what i say plz do

yup dont quote indeed (dry and wet are both intkae shots, a solenoid is just a switch).

nittrous doesnt provide boost.

ther goes one question.

the differen cebetween wet and drysystems is a wet system also delivers fuel with the shot. they both still inject into the intake tube, but a dry system relys on the stock computer (or an aftermarket one) to see (or switch on a second map) the differrence and add more fuel. good wet systems inject the required fuel for burning the n20 along with the n20. evne better systems will measure bottle pressure and compensate the fuel to suit because as bottle pressure lowers, the n20 will get less and less, and if its still adding teh same amount of fuel its going to be rch.

either way youll want a better fuel pump and probbaly an air/fuel controller as well. if youre automatic youll want a good transmission cooler as well. dont forget you probbaly want more "normal" spark plugs, not the stuff we use, among many other little things.

you will want to research more on this if youre planning on getting it.

i'm just curious if i keep the car stock with a aftermarket intake if nitrous will burn anything out, or hurt the car in any way...

you shouldve asked that first then...

as long as youre not stupid (many many variables, go search) with it you shouldnt have any problems.

more horsepower = more frequent maintenence.

if you already dont change your own engine oil and filter, dont even think about the search for real power.
